Farmhouse Bathroom Makeover and Barn Door with Rustica Hardware

We did it!! It's been a long process but we finally have our bathroom makeover complete! If you read my post before this one, on the renovation progress, you would have learned that this bathroom is actually our master bathroom. Built in the 1960's...it's super small. We took the bathroom down to the studs and came up with a solution to make it appear bigger than it actually is.

Bathroom and Barn Door Progress with Rustica Hardware

Over the past few months we have been working hard renovating our small master bathroom. We live in an old house that belonged to my husbands' grandparents. The bathroom in our master bedroom is very small compared to master baths today.

Here is the bathroom right after the drywall was installed. My husband completed all the work himself, including the drywall, plumbing, and tile installation.

Girl's Room Reveal | One Room Challenge

If you are new to my blog, welcome! My name is Daraka and I am a home decor and lifestyle blogger from Oklahoma. I love farmhouse decor and mixing new and old pieces. It's week 6 and the final reveal for the One Room Challenge hosted by Linda of Calling It Home.  Over 200 bloggers took the challenge of making over a room in just 6 short weeks.  This is my first time to join in and I am participating as a "guest participant" and I'm super excited to have made it to the end.

I took the challenge of turning my daughter's nursery into a little girl's room.  To see my original planning and process through the last 6 weeks click the links below.

I couldn't be more thrilled with how the room turned out. I'm happy to finally share it with you!

I based the whole room with this iron bed I already had and went from there. I knew I wanted to use a floral wallpaper behind the bed and found exactly what I was looking for from D. Marie Interiors. I came across her page on Instagram and fell in love with the papers she offers. Click here to find this wallpaper print.

Fall Outdoor Tablescape

Hello fiends! I've joined up with 6 blogger friends to bring you all Thanksgiving tablescape ideas with a fall recipe!

It's my absolute favorite time of year! Cozy blankets and sweaters, hot apple cider, crisp air, and football of course, are just a few reasons why I love fall. Knowing we are in the month of November always brings on that anxious feeling of celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas! One of the things I love most is creating memories and traditions, I try and make everything as memorable as I can for my three daughters for each holiday that comes. At the beginning of fall, we created a "fall bucket list" together and have been checking an item off each weekend. Having a fall picnic was one of the things they wanted to do so I thought..why not have dinner outdoors one night and make it something special they can remember? It also gave me an excuse to decorate another Thanksgiving/fall themed tablescape!

Girl's Room | One Room Challenge Week 5

Eeek!! It's already week 5 of the One Room Challenge hosted by Linda of Calling It Home Blog, and let me tell ya...I'm a little frantic! Although I accomplished some major progress over the past week, there is still much to be done. If you're not familiar with the One Room Challenge, it's a challenge where we take on the task of completing a room makeover in just six short weeks. I am participating as a guest participant.

One of the biggest things we (my husband and I) completed over the past week was putting up the wallpaper! Here is a sneak peek of the wall...as you can see I still have a ton of decorating to do. But is this wallpaper gorgeous or what?!? It's from D. Marie Interiors and I am obsessed! It was pre-pasted making put up super easy. To see more pattern options check out their Instagram page. Lighting | One Room Challenge Week 4

http://www.callingithome.com/blog/2016/10/one-room-challenge-guest-participants-week-2

It's week 4 of the One Room Challenge and I've made some major progress! I hung a chandelier from Lamps Plus, got the first coat of paint on the wall from Sherwin Williams (pictures coming next week), and my wallpaper came in from D. Marie Interiors. I have to say, I'm more excited than ever! All the pieces are coming together and I cannot wait to get the room styled.

OK...so how gorgeous is this light from Lamps Plus?! It's the Nicolli Clear 16" Crystal chandelier found HERE.  I'm totally obsessed with it, it's what I dreamed of when planning her big girl room. When the chandelier is on, its crystals make the whole room sparkle. My little girl is definitely going to feel like a princess!

DIY Tassel Blanket | ORC Week 3 | Girl's Room Update

It's week 3 of the One Room Challenge and I am beginning to get a little nervous! I am at a bit of a stand still because I am waiting to start on paint and wallpaper..although once those two are out of the way it will be a breeze from then on! If you're new to my posts, I am participating in a six week makeover challenge hosted by Linda of Calling It Home. Over 200 bloggers have linked up and you can see all their week 2 progress HERE.

On my first post I shared my vision for my daughters space, and before pics of her bedroom. Here is my design board below!
I am so excited to have found some great pieces this past weekend that I'll be sharing with you today!

One of the items I needed for the space was an armoire so that I could have extra space to hang more clothes. I searched Craigslist and found the perfect one!
Here she is!!

I'll be changing out the knobs and maybe painting it white. It's currently more of cream than I was looking for but it has potential! Sadie clearly loves it already. Hehe!

Another "to-do" on my list was to find a nightstand...and I scored big time! We were headed to my daughters game Saturday morning and I talked my husband into stopping by a garage sale I seen. They had two of these nightstands identical to each other and I scored both for $25 bucks! I love the legs and the ornate detail on the door. I only need one for the room so I plan on painting them both white, keeping one for her room, and selling the other!

Here is the beautiful iron bed I am using in the space. It's from Land of Nod.

It's been so exciting receiving all the items from my sponsors as well! I've received a chandelier, a canvas, a print, and some small decor items already and I can't wait to get the walls done so I can style them and show you all the beautiful items!

A special thank you to my AMAZING sponsors who are partnering with me to make this makeover possible!

One Room Challenge "Farmhouse Chic Girl's Room" Week 1

Welcome friends! I'm beyond excited to be joining along in the One Room Challenge hosted by Linda of Calling It Home. If you're not familiar with the One Room Challenge, it's a challenge to design and makeover a space in just 6 weeks! I am participating as a guest for the first time...and I'm not going to lie...I am a little nervous about completing a room transformation that quick. BUT..I also love a good challenge so I am super excited and ready! I'll be back every Thursday with progress updates and DIY's that I complete along the way and linking up to the official ORC over at Calling It Home.

If you're new to my blog, I live in Oklahoma with my husband and three daughters. We bought my husband's grandparents' house a few years ago and have slowly been updating it along the way. For my transformation, I decided to take on updating my toddlers nursery into a big girls room. Here is the before pics..WARNING..they are slightly on the messy side!

This is literally how the room is all the time..toys everywhere and not enough closet space for clothes. I have three daughters..between the 3 of them they share two closets. My older two share a room. This is the smaller of the two rooms so I'm going to have to be pretty minimal when I plan out the design.

Fall Home Tour

Hello friends! Fall has arrived and I've just finished my fall decorating! I'm really looking forward to all that fall brings...soups, crisp air, the turning of leaves, boots and sweaters, and of course football! I always love for my home to feel cozy through every season and I think I've accomplished that in my fall decorating.

I'm so very excited to have teamed up with 13 wonderful ladies to bring you a fall home tour blog hop! At the end of my post you'll find links to visit my fellow bloggers tours! They are a must! Such amazing talent and beautiful homes. Let's begin!

Pretzel S'mores

I discovered a new, amazing creation on our recent camping trip with my family. We usually try and take a fall camping trip every year before school starts..it's a super fun tradition that my girls look forward to. Of course, we always make S'mores, a favorite with my girls! Only, when we got all set up, I realized I forgot the graham crackers. I instantly started thinking of all the snacks I brought to see if I had something I could use in the crackers place...when it hit me..Pretzels!! Before we even made the first one I knew the salty and sweet would be so yummy. I have to tell you, after trying them..you may never make S'mores the traditional way again!

I bought the Pretzel Thins for our trip and I believe they worked out perfectly. The flatness of them made great foundations for the chocolate and gooey marshmallow!

I placed two Pretzel Thins face down on a plate and put one piece of Hershey's chocolate on a piece. One chocolate per S'more sandwich.

Now the fun part...roasting the marshmallows!

Once the marshmallow is hot and melted, transfer it on top of the chocolate piece, then place a Pretzel thin on top making a sandwich.

I personally have never just loved S'mores as they were always too sweet. I can now say I LOVE them!! I think the saltiness of the Pretzel balances it perfectly!

I dare you to just eat one! My daughter was a huge fan..can you tell?!

I would love to know if you try these yourself and what you think of them.

Happy Camping!

Xoxo,
Daraka

JORD Watch | Review & Giveaway!

Hello friends! I am so excited to be sharing a very beautiful product with you! I've admired wood watches from JORD for awhile now and was thrilled when they asked if I would review one of their amazing timepieces from their Frankie series! When the watch arrived in the mail, it came beautifully packaged in this wood box! Already perfect for gift giving too!

I received the Frankie series Zebrawood & Champagne watch. It was really the perfect watch for me because I dress simple and casual most of the time...but the best part about this ladies watch is that I can wear it dressed up or dressed down! It honestly works for both! The wood is absolutely stunning and I have already had so many questions and comments about it while out and about.

I've always loved wearing a watch, and these women's watches are not only lightweight but are beautiful and unique! If you follow me on Instagram, you know just how much I love unique items. I am already planning gifts for this Christmas for a couple family members that I know would love one! I think they would make such unique gifts!

Another great thing about ordering from JORD, is you can print a size chart that allows you to pick the correct size watch for your wrist! Therefore ensuring that when you receive your watch, it's ready to wear! Be sure to also check out their men's watches! My husband may or may not already know what I'm getting him for Christmas!

Want a chance to win a $75 credit toward a JORD watch of your own? Enter HERE and one lucky person will win a $75 e-voucher to apply to a watch of their choice! (expiring 9/2) The best part is there are no "losers"! Just for entering you will receive a $20 e-voucher (excluding the winner) that will expire 12/2. Winner will be randomly selected by JORD and notified my email! Good luck to all!

*Contest closes at 8/2 at 11:59pm

**This watch was sponsored to me from JORD but all opinions are my own and honest.
